Ode to Being Old(er)

I’m not very old
Not very old at all
A spry twenty-two
But to them I am old

Old enough to have broken hearts.

Old enough to know when to stop.
Old enough to not live by YOLO.

Old enough to know that Love is between
two friends, not found drunk in the club.

Old enough to make decisions
which will impact the lives of others,
more than Myself.

Old enough to know how to
play the game well.
Old enough to hate playing
the game.

Old enough to be smart
Old enough to respect wisdom.

Old enough to be a Man.
Young enough that I’m still a fool.
